Walk into the shop at 120 N Milwaukee St with any old vape — disposable, pod kit, mod, dry tank, or 510 battery. Or leave them at your door for your delivery driver.

We Recycle It

Devices go into a fire-rated container, get logged for our quarterly tonnage report, and ship to a certified e-waste processor that recovers the lithium, copper, and plastic.

Why Vape Recycling Actually Matters

The disposable vape boom created a silent e-waste crisis. The FDA estimates over 1.2 billion disposable vapes were tossed in US trash in 2024 alone — each one a sealed lithium-ion battery wrapped in plastic and residual e-juice. When those batteries get crushed in a garbage truck or landfill, they short-circuit and ignite. Lithium-ion fires are now the leading cause of US waste-truck and landfill fires.

Idaho's curbside recycling doesn't accept small lithium devices — Republic Services explicitly excludes vapes from the residential stream. So unless you drop them at a special e-waste depot, they end up in the regular trash. That's where Stormy Vape's program comes in: a walk-in drop-off two minutes off Franklin Rd, with points waiting on your Stormy Rewards balance.

What You Can Drop Off

Anything with a vape battery is fair game. We do this so you don't have to figure out where dead lithium is supposed to go.

Accepted

Dead disposable vapes (any brand — Geek Bar, Lost Mary, Off Stamp, Elf Bar, RYL, Funky Republic, Tyson 2.0, you name it). Empty refillable pods (Lost Mary Nera, Off Stamp X-Cube, Geek Bar Mate). Broken pod systems and pod kits. Old box mods, sub-ohm tanks, RDAs, RTAs. Loose 510-thread batteries (Pop Twist and similar). 18650 and 21700 batteries with cap intact. USB-C cables that came with disposables.

Not Accepted

Water-damaged or visibly leaking devices. Devices still actively producing vapor (use them up first). Phones, tablets, or non-vape electronics. Cannabis cartridges or 510 THC carts (legal restrictions). Bulk lots over 25 devices — call (208) 914-0086 to schedule those.

How many Stormy Rewards points do I earn per vape?

5 points per device, regardless of type — disposable, pod system, 510 battery, or box mod. Cap is 50 points (10 devices) per visit. Points stack with the 1-per-dollar you already earn and redeem at the standard ~20% back rate.

What kinds of vapes can I drop off?

Anything with a lithium-ion battery: dead disposables, empty refillable pods, broken pod systems, old box mods, 510 batteries, dry tanks. No water-damaged or leaking devices, no non-vape e-waste.

Do I have to buy something to drop one off?

Nope. Bring vapes from any retailer — gas stations, online, other vape shops — we'll still recycle them. Points land on your free Stormy Rewards account whenever you want to use them.

Can I include vapes with my delivery?

Yes — leave dead vapes in a sealed bag at your door when our driver arrives, and they'll pick them up and add the points to your Stormy Rewards balance before they leave. Works on any delivery across Boise, Meridian, Eagle, Garden City, Nampa, and Kuna.

What happens to the vapes after I drop them off?

We collect, weigh, and store devices in fire-rated containers, then ship batched loads to a certified e-waste processor that separates lithium-ion cells, plastics, and metals. Quarterly tonnage updates posted on our Instagram so the community can see the impact.
